NEW METHOD OF H.I.V. TRANSMISSION DOCUMENTED

we received this email this morning. make sure to click on the link to read the rest of the story. please tell a friend to tell a friend. u can email them from this blog. just press the email button.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to send this to you in case you haven't had a chance to read it. It is sad that as of two days ago, Peace Corps officially pulled out of Kenya due to tribal
conflict and to know that the Volunteers there were contributing so much in education and prevention of HIV/AIDS.

To the RPCVs from Botswana, can you imagine the work that the current Volunteers will have to do in order to educate the women in our poor little villages? What is going
to happen to mothers in Africa who have no breast milk and can't afford baby formulas?

I kindly ask all of my colleagues (Va, Marisein Cape Verde to please disseminate this information to all of their target group you work with (hospitals, clinics, HIV/AIDS group/organizations,
Youth Centers, women's association like OMCVand your colleagues. I am thinking that this has been reported on the radio, TV and newspaper? If not, send it to someone who you know
can make some noise...

Aguido and Joana, can you please forward the email to all of our Volunteers and ask them to share it with their Counterparts, Health Teachers in the schools where they work,
Youth Centers Coordinators and people at the camara who work in the social work department/community outreach.

Best regards,
Neusa

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
For the first time, health officials report that the AIDS virus can be spread by a mother pre-chewing her infant’s food, a practice mainly seen in poor, developing countries.
