Hello New York Friends!
I am so exited to invite you all to see the documentary, A Walk to Beautiful, for it's New York commercial debut on the big screen! I was privileged to have been asked to Compose the Original Score for this film, as well as license music I had previously composed and recorded with both Dave Eggar (The Featured Cellist on the score) for his album, "Left of Blue", and music from "IKU IKU" (Ftr. Davi Vieira and Michael Paris). I also travelled to Ethiopia where the film was shot and recorded some amazing vocalists and traditional players for the Score -on instruments not usually heard in the US.
A Walk to Beautiful follows five Ethiopian women who suffer from devastating childbirth injuries as they embark on a journey to reclaim their lost dignity and health. This inspirational film has won top honors as the Best Feature Documentary of 2007 from the International Documentary Association, as well as others.
The film premieres in New York beginning February 8th at Quad Cinemawhere it will run for at least one week -where in we can hope to have its run extended in response to audience support.
Show times are 1:00 pm, 2:45pm, 4:30 pm, 6:15 pm, 8:00 pm, and 10:05 pm daily.
