YOUNG, RICH, AND DANGEROUS
so the other day i told ya'll that i was reading this book called Autobiography of a Yogi... well i stopped... yes i told u how i get so no big deal i'll get back to it again soon... i'll tell u when i finish.
on the same day that i got that book i also bought this other one called YOUNG, RICH, AND DANGEROUS, THE MAKING OF A MUSIC MOGUL by JERMAINE DUPRI with SAMANTHA MARSHALL.
i started reading it this past saturday & couldn't put it down that's how good it is... i'm just about done i'll finish it by tonight. it's a really great book for anyone who wants to be in the music business.
i just bought two other books tonight but i'll let u know what they are when i start reading them.

Greetings colleagues, just a quick reminder about the New Haven Symphony Family Concert this Saturday: “Water, Water, Everywhere!” will feature a woodwind quintet, performing music inspired by or related to water. There will be fun activities for children and adults alike, including opportunities for kids ages 3-12+/- to try instruments, sing a sea shanty, and discover the creatures of Long Island Sound in a “touch tank”. late Charles Lee Remington, a professor for 44 years in several Yale
departments and longtime Curator in the Peabody's Entomology Division.

Introductory Concert
The Shoreline Community Chorale’s fall 2007 concert marks the introductory appearance of Erin Westmaas as director. The concert will give listeners a musical journey through “Passages of Life”, as the program express life’s various stages… from birth and youth, through growth, love, wisdom, maturity, death, and spiritual rebirth. The choral selections come form a variety of musical styles… from early music through romanticism, to jazz. The Shoreline Community Chorale was founded in 1982 by the Shoreline Arts Alliance.
Erin Westmaas – Introductory Appearance
Erin Westmaas holds the Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the Yale School of Music (2007), under the guidance of Simon Carrington and Marguerite Brooks. As a conductor she has directed the Yale Repertory Chorus and the Marquand Chapel Choir at Yale, among others. As a choral singer she has performed with the Yale Schola Cantorum, Yale Camerata, the Spoleto Festival Chorus in Italy, the Norfolk Festival Chorus in Norfolk, CT and The Crossing, a professional chamber choir in Philadelphia. She performs as a freelance soprano soloist, teaches courses in the music department at Yale University, and serves as the Director of Music for the University Church at Yale.
Passages of Life
Through the concert theme “Passages of Life”, the chorale will take you on a musical journey through life; the stages, the variety of experiences, and the emotional ups and downs. A sampling of the selections includes opening with a three-choir selection, “Cum Essem Parvulus” by Levine, which expresses in Latin the leaving of childhood habits behind as we grow. Then “A Spanish Lullaby” expresses early childhood, and “I Gondoliere” by Rossini expresses love in the gondolas of Venice. A concert ensemble will perform ”Cool April”, a jazz version of the well known English madrigal “April is in My Mistress’ Face”. “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore” by Duke Ellington, then provides a segue to the stages of wisdom and death as represented by “Even Such is Time” by Chilcott, and “Funeral Ikos” by the contemporary Jon Tavener. The program will close the circle of life with “Glory, Glory to the New Born King”, a powerful spiritual arrangement by Moses Hogan.

EXILE PRODUCES GREAT ARTISTRY
The New Haven Symphony Orchestra and Music Director William Boughton present In Exile, November 15, 7:30pm, Woolsey Hall, New Haven. On the program: Tippett’s Concerto for Double String Orchestra, R Strauss’ Oboe Concerto featuring NHSO principal oboist Olav van Hezewijk, and Beethoven’s, Symphony No 6 in F ‘Pastoral.’
Olav van Hezewijk, principal oboist of the NHSO, has charmed audiences in Connecticut and New York with his dazzling technique and lyrical phrasing for many years. In 1984, two years after he came to Yale from his native Holland, he took the Third Prize in the famed Gillet International Double Reed Competition held that year in Graz, Austria, and has since established himself in the elite circles of performers and teachers in Connecticut, the greater New York area, and across the country. He lives in the New Haven area with his wife, oboist Marta Boratgis, who is also a familiar face in the New Haven Symphony's oboe section.

Quinnipiac professor to screen war documentary
“No Unwounded Soldiers” Nov. 7 and 11
Quinnipiac University communications professor Rebecca Abbott will screen her documentary “No Unwounded Soldiers” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in Alumni Hall at Quinnipiac. The free event is open to the public.
Abbott also will screen the documentary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at the Educational Center for the Arts at 55 Audubon St. (corner of Audubon and Orange streets) in New Haven. This free screening is open to the public.
Abbott produced, directed, filmed and edited the 78-minute documentary about a small group of Vietnam War veterans and the twin sister of a deceased veteran as they explore how war changes those who fight. The documentary shows the devastating and persistent effects war has on veterans, their families and their communities, and demonstrates that healing is possible through the arts. Through their work in drama therapy, the group creates an original play that examines the universality of a war’s impact. Joined by World War II veterans and a veteran of the current war in Iraq the group helps people understand the full impact of war.

The Southeastern Connecticut Filmmakers organization is having another open call casting session from 10AM till 6PM on November 10th & 11th. Because of the diversity of film projects in size and scope, there is no specific type, age, or gender that we are looking for. The productions will be on-going throughout the year and since we have quite a few projects (short films / commercials / music videos) on the slate we invite all actors & actresses that are interested. If you have a monologue, we would like to record you on camera along with a dry reading from various scenes that have been selected by our directors. The auditions will be held at the Garde Art Center Meeting House on 325 State Street. New London, Connecticut. The Intentional Theatre of Southeastern Connecticut is seeking three full-length plays for its 2008 season. We are looking for new works to offer actors and audiences something different than the usual fare, especially those by playwrights still alive.

The Thomaston Opera House is seeking submissions for its second Playwright Project to be presented in the Arts Center at the Thomaston Opera House in October 2008. Deadline for entries is February 15, 2008.
Guidelines: Plays must be un-produced, unpublished full-length works original to the author(s). No adaptations, children’s plays, musicals or film/television scripts. A previously produced one act rewritten and expanded to a full-length is eligible. The plays must also be one set with no special technical requirements and a small cast because the performance space is small with no wings or flies. Connecticut residents eligible to submit scripts. Proof of Connecticut residency must accompany the script submission. Photocopy of license, utility bills, etc. are acceptable.
Fee: $20 reading fee payable to the Thomaston Opera House. No cash.
Format:
No covers or folders. Pages bound with 2 or 3 brads for easy photocopying
No playwright’s name on title page bound with script
Second separate title page with playwright’s name and contact information
SASE to have script returned. If none included, script will be recycled
SASE postcard can be included to acknowledge receipt of script
Process: A reading committee will choose scripts to be presented as free readings on a regular schedule during late 2007/early 2008. These readings may be recorded for podcast on the Thomaston Opera House website. The theatre will solicit opinions on the plays from live and internet audiences.
Prize: The winning play will be produced as part of the 2008 Thomaston Opera House Arts Center Series in October 2008.

i don't know what happen this past weekend but i think that something was in the water... no joke.
ok just in case u missed it.
so this past weekend the cutie SHIA LABEOUF from the Transformers was arrested 2:30am @ a Chicago Walgreens. i guess he was drunk & the security guard asked him to leave & he refused so dude called the cops on his ass.
this chick by the name of XTINA finally confirmed that she's Pregos (pregnant) like we couldn't tell. wow girl u shouldn't have wasted u'r time.
just in case u were thinking about hiring her make sure u ain't trying to pay her in dollars because Gisele Bundchen ain't having it.

have u seen this movie yet? it's a must see. the name is SLC PUNK... it's about this Punk movement in Salt Lake City.

i'm reading this book by Russell Simmons called DO YOU. really great book... i'm still reading it. i'm usually not good @ finishing a book but i can see that i'll finish this one soon. u should pick it up when ever u have a chance.
i'll be posting more books that i started reading... u know how it is. my ADHD be kicking in like nothing.
